چکیده

Next generation High Performance (HP) tokamaks risk damage from unmitigated disruptions at high current and power. Achieving reliable disruption prediction for a device's HP operation based on its Low (LP) data is key to success. In this letter, through explorative analysis dedicated numerical experiments multiple existing tokamaks, we demonstrate how the operational regimes of can affect power trained predictor. First, our results suggest data-driven predictors abundant LP discharges work poorly regime same tokamak, which consequence distinct distributions tightly correlated signals related in these two regimes. Second, find that matching parameters among strongly improves cross-machine accuracy implies model learns underlying scalings dimensionless physics like q95, βp confirms importance cross machine domain perspective. Finally, show absence target devices, best predictivity be achieved by combining with other machines. These provide possible predictor development strategy next such as ITER SPARC, highlight developing baseline scenario future machines collect more relevant disruptive data.

Mechanisms of plasma disruption and runaway electron losses in tokamaks

Based on the analysis of data from the numerous dedicated experiments on plasma disruptions in the TEXTOR tokamak mechanisms of the formation of runaway electron beams and their losses are proposed. The plasma disruption is caused by strong stochastic magnetic field formed due to nonlinearly excited low-mode number MHD modes. It is hypothesized that the runaway electron beam is formed in the ce...

Next Generation Adaptive Optics

INTRODUCTION 3 This document discusses considerations for the DAVINCI instrument’s pupil image quality and pupil mask selections. The DAVINCI instrument (Adkins et al., 2010) requires a cold pupil mask to control background, especially in the near-IR wavelengths. Different size masks may be required to balance throughput loss and background suppression, with additional masks required for the DA...

Ontology-based Disruption Scenario Generation for Critical Infrastructure

Critical Infrastructures (CIs) are exposed to a wide spectrum of threats which vary in nature and can be either internal or external. THREVI2 project aims at assisting Authorities and Operators to get comprehensive information of all potential disruption scenarios relevant for CIP through creating a comprehensive and multi-dimensional all-hazards catalogue for CI. It consists of two ontologies ...

Adaptive Admission Control for next Generation Networks

This paper investigates the adaptive local resource reservation call admission control protocols. The algorithms are built upon the concept of guard channel and we use an adaptive algorithm to track the optimal number of guard channel resources to reserve at a base station. We compare the following adaptive algorithms, one based on the Wiener prediction theory and the other based on the arrival...
